How I Got Two Degrees From The University

As I prepare to say goodbye to bachelorhood next Saturday, I find myself reflecting on an extraordinary chapter of my life—my university days.

Studying Mass Communication in the heart of academia, I never imagined I would leave the University with not just one, but two life-altering “degrees.”

The first, of course, was my Bachelor’s in Mass Communication, earned through sleepless nights, endless lectures, and intense projects. But the second? That was the degree of love, commitment, and partnership I found in Morohunmubo, the woman who will soon be my wife.

Morohunmubo, whose name beautifully translates to “I see something to bring,” walked into my life during those bustling university days. Though we studied in different departments, fate brought us together in the most unexpected ways—through church gatherings, mutual friends, and shared goals.

We started as friends, exchanging ideas and dreams, but as time passed, I realized she was the one degree my life needed to feel complete. Her kindness, intelligence, and unwavering support were as valuable as any academic lesson I learned in class.

Next Saturday, I’ll walk down the aisle to begin a new chapter, but today, I celebrate my final Saturday as a bachelor. As I prepare for this lifelong journey with Morohunmubo, I’m reminded that life’s most significant achievements often come wrapped in love and companionship.

Indeed, university gave me two degrees—one for my career and another for my heart.

Truly, GideonRohunmubo!
