Dele Farotomi: Protesters Besiege Afe Babalola’s London Office Tuesday

Erstwhile presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore is championing an aggressive international campaign to free Dele Farotimi from present criminal defamation charges with the London office of Chief Afe Babalola as one of the staging posts.

GWG.ng reports that Dele Farotimi is under trial for criminal defamation of Afe Babalola, a development that has enraged many in the civil rights community.

The online campaign against the trial GWG.ng gathered is now set to be taken to demonstrations across three countries including Nigeria, United Kingdom and Canada.

The UK demonstration it was learnt is to hold in front of the London charity, the Afe Babalola Center for Transnational Education.

Established in 2023, the Afe Babalola Centre which is funded by the Nigerian billionaire lawyer according to its website,  “enables King’s and its network of partners to provide young Africans with access to education and opportunities which they would otherwise not have.

“The vision for the Centre is based on the power of education to empower and enable Africa’s talented young people to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.”

The website further asserts that the centre “is supporting Africa’s best minds to become local, national and global leaders.” Dele Farotimi is certainly not one of those best minds from Africa as envisaged by the Babalola Centre in London envisages.
