Jada Pollock Flaunts Achievments, Rejects ‘Wizkid’s Baby Mama’ Label (Video)
Jada Pollock, a key figure in the entertainment industry, has shared her frustration about being labeled as “Wizkid’s baby mama,” despite her significant professional achievements.
She spoke openly in an interview with BET UK about how this label often overshadows her identity as a successful entrepreneur and talent manager.
Born on October 20, 1983, in the United States, Jada, also known as Jada Styles, is an accomplished stylist, brand consultant, and entrepreneur. She has built a remarkable career in the music industry, most notably managing Nigerian superstar Wizkid. Her contributions have been instrumental in the global success of Afrobeat music.
Jada and Wizkid began working together in 2014, and over time, their relationship became personal. They have been together for seven years and share two children, Zion, born in 2017, and AJ, born in 2022. While not married or engaged, they have consistently supported each other both personally and professionally.
In the interview, Jada recalled a specific incident that deeply frustrated her. After Wizkid won a Grammy, she wrote a statement celebrating Afrobeat’s progress. However, many blogs ignored her professional role and reduced her contribution to the label “Wizkid’s baby mama.”
“When Wizkid won a Grammy, I wrote a statement about how far Afrobeat has come,” she said. “They published the statement, and the caption was ‘Wizkid’s baby mama.’ The narrative does not recognize that you’re an entrepreneur and a hardworking businesswoman. I’m not only a mother but also a manager, and I’ve helped build a legacy.”
Jada’s experience highlights a common struggle for women in the industry, where personal relationships often overshadow professional achievements. Her story reflects her resilience and determination to shift this narrative and gain recognition for her contributions.
Despite these challenges, Jada has shown remarkable leadership and vision in her work. As a British-born, US-based executive, she played a key role in managing Wizkid’s career during difficult times, including the pandemic. Her strategies, such as overseeing the release of Wizkid’s Made in Lagos YouTube performance, demonstrate her expertise and dedication.
Jada remains committed to breaking boundaries and inspiring others. She hopes to encourage greater acknowledgment of women’s contributions in the industry, proving that her identity goes far beyond labels. Her journey is a testament to her strength and the importance of redefining narratives to celebrate women’s full range of achievements.
