Woman Strikes Boyfriend With Car After His HIV+ Status Is Revealed (Video)
By Benjamin Abioye
A woman, Misty Wilkie, has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison for running over her boyfriend, Joseph Valver, after learning that his HIV status was positive.
The incident occurred in a park where the couple, aged 44 and 45 respectively, got into a heated argument after Joseph revealed his HIV status and reportedly laughed at her.
In a fit of anger, Misty drove her car at him while he was riding his bicycle, causing him to fly through the air and land face-first on the ground.
Joseph, who was later treated for a fractured vertebrae and head injuries, initially got up but collapsed soon after. Misty claimed she did not realize she had hit him until he bounced off her car. At the time of the incident, Misty had a laceration on her arm after Joseph allegedly swung a pocket knife at her, though it is unclear whether he faced any legal consequences for that action.
The shocking incident was captured on video and quickly went viral. In the footage, Misty’s car strikes Joseph, sending him tumbling. The video has sparked intense reactions online. Some viewers believe Joseph deserved the consequences of his actions, while others argue that Misty’s response to the boyfriend’s revelation of his HIV status was too violent.
A few comments humorously suggested that Misty was “sending him back to his maker,” and others expressed concern about whether Joseph survived, given the severity of the attack. The incident has ignited a heated debate, with opinions divided on whether Misty’s actions were justified.
