Father Kills Son After Screaming “Holy Ghost Fire”

The Edo State Police have arrested a man, Theophilus Osazuwa, after he was alleged to have killed his four-year-old son while under the influence of hard drugs.

The police made the announcement on Wednesday night through their Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu.

According to Yamu, the tragic incident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Osazuwa’s home in Ogbeson Quarters, near Benin-Agbor Road in Benin City. It was reported that Osazuwa, in a disturbed state, started screaming “Holy Ghost fire” before he violently threw his son against a wall. This action caused the child, Testimony Osazuwa, to suffer fatal injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the child was declared dead upon arrival.

Yamu further explained that Osazuwa has a history of using illicit substances, including hard drugs like “ice.” Preliminary investigations suggest that his actions may have been influenced by these substances at the time of the incident.

The police have since taken Osazuwa into custody as part of their ongoing investigation into the tragedy.
