Teju, too, took to Instagram to share her painful memories surrounding their father’s untimely death. She revealed a disturbing detail from the tragic event, recalling that a two-week-old baby had been used as bait in the incident that led to her father’s assassination. The pain of his loss was deeply felt by Teju, especially the absence of photographs with their father, something that has stayed with her over the years.

In front of your 2 weeks old baby used as bait… I never got a chance to take a picture with you. But when I spoke to my older sister @officialniniola yesterday she said, look in the mirror, every time you see yourself you see him. That one hit deep. Rest in peace Simeon Olaosebikan Apata.” Through her tribute, Teju shared the lasting pain of their father’s loss while honoring his memory.
