By Benjamin Abioye
Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault and molestation of a female employee at Don Maserati Classic Boutique in Lagos.
The incident, which occurred on Lagos Island, reportedly involved the boutique’s owner ordering the mistreatment of the employee, accusing her of theft. The police are continuing their investigation and are working to apprehend other suspects involved in the assault.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and promised that justice will be served for the female boutique employee. This case has sparked significant outrage, with many Nigerians expressing their concern and demanding accountability. The police are committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
The disturbing incident gained attention after a video surfaced on social media, showing the female employee being beaten with sticks by multiple men. The video showed her lying on the floor while the men took turns flogging her, and others stood by, watching without intervening. The graphic nature of the video has horrified viewers, with many condemning the inhumane treatment.
While the female boutique employee was accused of theft, the brutal assault, captured on video, has drawn widespread condemnation even beyond Lagos. Many Nigerians have emphasized that regardless of the theft allegation, such treatment is unlawful and unjust. Citizens and activists have voiced their outrage on social media, calling for justice and stressing the importance of allowing the law to take its course instead of resorting to mob justice.
