Accident As LASTMA Official Drags Steering With Driver (Video)

A chaotic scene unfolded at Ladipo bus stop in Lagos on Monday after a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official allegedly dragged the steering wheel of a commercial driver, leading to a severe accident.

The accident, which caused a significant stir among onlookers, reportedly left the driver unconscious at the scene with many blaming the LASTMA official for the developmennt.

Eyewitnesses who posted the video claim that the altercation that led to the accident began when the LASTMA officer attempted to stop the driver for an alleged traffic violation. A struggle for control ensued, causing the vehicle to crash into another car before coming to a halt. Dramatic footage from the accident scene shows concerned bystanders lifting the unconscious driver from his vehicle, while the visibly upset owner of the second car demanded compensation for his damaged vehicle.

The condition of the injured driver was unclear as of the time of this report. Meanwhile, no official statement has been issued by LASTMA or relevant authorities regarding the incident.

In related development, GWG.ng reports that the Edo State Public Response Safety Team has dismissed a Taskforce officer caught on video grappling with a commercial bus driver over the steering wheel in Benin City.

The action of the task force operative which stirred widespread outrage, prompted swift action from the agency to address public concerns.
