Carlo Ancelotti Set To Dump Real Madrid Contract
By Benjamin Abioye

Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian manager of Real Madrid, has reportedly decided to leave his position as head coach at the end of this season, despite having a contract that runs until 2026.
Carlo Ancelotti, who has enjoyed tremendous success in his second stint with Real Madrid seems determined to move on, regardless of the team’s performance or the club’s desire for him to remain.
According to reports from Radioestadio Noche on Onda Cero, the coach has made up his mind to part ways with Madrid next summer. His decision comes after a contract renewal in December 2023, a move that surprised many, as speculation linked him to the Brazilian national team. The renewal only reinforced his already impressive legacy at Real Madrid.
Under Ancelotti’s leadership, Real Madrid has achieved remarkable milestones, including two La Liga titles, two UEFA Champions League trophies, a Copa del Rey, and numerous Super Cups of Spain and Europe, as well as a FIFA Club World Cup. Notably, he guided the team to its historic “La Décima” Champions League title during his first tenure.
Despite his success, Ancelotti appears resolute in his decision to leave, even after securing a historic double in June 2024. Sources close to the coach revealed, “Ancelotti knows that continuing beyond each season, even with a valid contract, is not entirely up to him. Still, he has decided to step down at the end of this season, even if titles are won and the club urges him to stay.”
This decision comes amid ongoing interest from the Brazilian Football Federation, which has been keen on hiring Ancelotti and even delayed naming a new coach in hopes of securing him. While his exit will mark the end of an era, Carlo Ancelotti’s contributions to Real Madrid’s success will remain a significant part of the club’s history.
