A Nigerian POS agent has shared a startling encounter where she processed a ₦70,000 withdrawal for a customer, only to discover that the money remained in the customer’s account despite showing approval on her machine.

The story, which has gained traction on X (formerly Twitter), highlighted the challenges POS operators face.

According to the POS agent, two customers visited her shop to check their account balances. After confirming their balances, one of them requested a withdrawal of ₦70,000. She processed the transaction and handed over the cash to the customer.

However, moments after the transaction, she realized that the ₦70,000 had not been credited to her POS machine balance. Shocked, she consulted her brother, who explained the likely issue.

Determined not to lose her hard-earned money, the POS agent left her shop to track down the customer. After locating them at a different location, she confronted them about the situation. Her persistence eventually paid off, and the ₦70,000 was returned.
