Panic As Fuel Tanker Is Razed At Fuel Station
By Gideon Ayeni

A fuel tanker erupted into fire while offloading fuel at Shakatu Filling Station along Kiyawa Road in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, on Thursday night, sparking fear and chaos among residents and commuters.
The fire, which broke out around 8:30 p.m., rapidly engulfed the fuel tanker and spread to parts of the filling station, eyewitnesses told reporters. The sudden blaze forced authorities to take immediate action to prevent further disaster.
Police and other security agencies quickly set up roadblocks to control traffic and keep onlookers away, reducing the risk of casualties. Meanwhile, firefighters and emergency responders battled to contain the inferno and stop it from spreading to nearby structures.
As of the time of reporting, the fire was still raging, with the full extent of damage and possible casualties yet to be determined.
This incident comes months after a similar tragedy in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area, where a fuel tanker explosion claimed over 100 lives.
Confirming the latest incident of a fuel tanker fire in the state, the spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, assured the public that emergency efforts were ongoing to bring the situation under control.
