Controversy As Female Student Who Slapped Male Lecturer Speaks (Video)

A viral incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has created online controversy after a 200-level female student allegedly assaulted a lecturer for interrupting her TikTok video.

The student, who initially faced backlash for slapping and tearing the lecturer’s shirt, has now accused him of sexual harassment—a claim that many online believe lacks credibility.

The incident reportedly took place at the Faculty of Arts, where the lecturer, Dr. Ebekue, encountered the student recording a TikTok video in the hallway. According to Dr. Ebekue, he politely tapped her to make room for him to walk. However, she later insulted him, prompting him to return and ask her to identify herself and delete the video. When she refused, he attempted to take her phone, which led to a scuffle where she bit him twice, slapped him, and tore his shirt.

However, in her version of events, the student claims that the lecturer rudely pushed her while passing. After realizing he was a lecturer, she allegedly made a remark to her friend about his behavior. Moments later, she said Dr. Ebekue tried to snatch her phone without explanation. During the struggle, her phone fell and broke. She then alleged that while she was picking up the pieces, the lecturer grabbed her breasts and forcibly exposed her cleavage.

The student claims she begged him to stop, but he refused, leaving bruises on her chest. In response, she bit his hands, grabbed his shirt, and accidentally tore it. She further alleged that students from Dr. Ebekue’s department later arrived with weapons, escalating the situation until security intervened.

Sources within UNIZIK have suggested that the student’s mother, who is reportedly a senior lecturer at the university, claimed her daughter has mental health issues and urged leniency.

Meanwhile, the university is set to convene a disciplinary panel to review the case.

Despite the dramatic turn in the narrative, many students and netizens remain skeptical of the student’s allegations, questioning why she has not provided video evidence to support her claims. Some speculate that this could be a tactic to escape punishment, with many jokingly suggesting she has “fast-tracked” her graduation.

With both sides presenting conflicting stories, all eyes are now on the university’s disciplinary panel to determine the truth.
