Portable appeared in court on Thursday, February 22, 2025, following his arrest for allegedly leading an attack on officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The incident occurred at Odogwu Bar, his property in Sango Ota, when the officials were enforcing state regulations.

Portable, widely recognized for his hit song Zazoo Zeh, faced a five-count charge, including conspiracy, assault, obstructing public officers from carrying out their duties, and possession of dangerous weapons such as cutlasses and guns. He, however, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

His arrest came after he turned himself in at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba on Wednesday, following his declaration as wanted by the Ogun State Police Command. He was later transferred to the Eleweran Police Headquarters in Abeokuta.

Earlier, nine of his associates had been arraigned on February 6, facing similar charges over the same incident. The suspects include:

Nurudeen Warris (21)

Adetola Alashe (25)

Samuel Adeleke (28)

Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19)

Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20)

Gospel Kanu (20)

Precious Ohiegebo (19)

Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27)

Fatimo Muhammed (26)

They were accused of attacking three government officials—Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero—who were carrying out their official duties.

Following Portable’s plea, his lawyer, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, appealed for bail, assuring the court of his client’s remorse.

Magistrate O. L. Oke granted Portable bail in the sum of ₦2 million with one surety, and adjourned the case to March 5, 2025, for trial.
