JAMB Releases New Update On 2025 UTME
By Benjamin Abioye

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will officially close on March 8, 2025.
The examination body made it clear that there will be no extension of the deadline, as the process began on February 3.
According to an official statement released on Tuesday, JAMB emphasized that the registration timeline had been widely publicized through advertisements and the official 2025 UTME calendar. It urged all candidates to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid missing out.
“We wish to inform all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period,” the statement read.
The board noted a recent drop in the number of new registrations and advised applicants not to delay until the last minute. “This notice is particularly important given the recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination. We urge all individuals who wish to participate to register promptly and avoid waiting until the last minute,” JAMB stated.
JAMB further disclosed that over 1.5 million candidates had successfully registered, aligning closely with its expectations for the 2025 UTME. The statement highlighted that JAMB’s schedule is fixed, with multiple activities planned after the registration period, including the examination, result processing, and admission procedures.
“These timelines are coordinated with other agencies whose operations rely on the completion of our processes. Therefore, extending the registration period would disrupt not only the Board’s plans but also those of our partners,” the board explained.
JAMB urged all prospective candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible, ensuring they comply with the established timeline for the 2025 UTME.
