INEC 2030 presidential results announced

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially scheduled February 21, 2026, for elections across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement released by the Commission, INEC confirmed that the elections would commence at 8:30 a.m. across all polling units in the FCT. The announcement also outlined critical guidelines to ensure a smooth voting process.

According to INEC, only registered voters with valid Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will be allowed to participate in the FCT election. Voting will strictly take place at polling units where voters are registered, and the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will be deployed for voter verification.

The Commission further emphasized its stance on voter eligibility, reiterating the policy: “No PVC, no voting.”

As the election date approaches, INEC has urged residents of the FCT to prepare accordingly and ensure compliance with the outlined electoral guidelines.
