Former President Muhammadu Buhari has resettled in his Kaduna residence, nearly two years after moving to Daura, Katsina State, following the end of his tenure.

His former aide, Bashir Ahmad, shared this update on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) on Thursday night, stating that Buhari initially chose Daura for a quiet life away from political activities.

“Today, former President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his Kaduna residence after spending two years in Daura, Katsina State, since leaving office in May 2023.

“After completing his tenure, he opted for a quiet life in his hometown and largely stayed out of active political discussions, focusing on private engagements,” Ahmad wrote.

Buhari’s relocation was marked by the presence of several political figures, including Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, among others. Their presence signaled strong support from key allies.

Reflecting on his life after leaving office, Buhari recently noted an improvement in his well-being.

“My health has improved since leaving office. People who visited me told me I look better than before,” he revealed.
