Why I Won’t Sign New Artists – Tiwa Savage
By Benjamin Abioye

Singer Tiwa Savage has shared why she has no plans to sign upcoming artistes, stating that managing musicians is too stressful for her.
In an interview with Forbes Africa, she explained that handling artists can be overwhelming, and she doesn’t think she has the ability to take on such responsibility.
“Everyone always says to me, ‘When are you going to sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste because artistes are stressful. I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artiste is trending for something else,” she said.
Rather than signing artistes, Savage prefers to create opportunities for them in other ways. She revealed that she is working on setting up a music school where aspiring musicians can develop their talent before joining a record label that can provide the necessary support.
“But I do have the gift to help, which is why I am trying to do the music school, where you can go and later sign to a label that can actually help you,” she added.
