Bianca Obiano Ebelechukwu Slap

Bianca Ojukwu has reignited memories of her infamous 2022 clash with Ebelechukwu Obiano, sharing a cryptic Instagram post on the anniversary of the dramatic slap incident.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the widow of the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has once again drawn public attention as she marked the anniversary of a dramatic incident that occurred on March 17, 2022.

In an Instagram post, she made indirect but pointed references to her infamous encounter with Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife of former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano.

The event in question took place during the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, where an altercation between the two women led to a moment that became the highlight of the ceremony. In what was widely reported, Mrs Obiano physically confronted Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, leading to an exchange that disrupted proceedings briefly. The incident, which was captured on video, quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from the public.

Now, two years later, Bianca Ojukwu took to Instagram to reflect on that day with a cryptic but unmistakable message along with a clearer picture of how she slapped Obiano.

In her post, she wrote:

“NEVER TURN YOUR LAST DAY IN OFFICE INTO A PAINFUL EXIT…. As the saying goes, ‘Pink butterflies, especially those with oversized wings or inflated egos must never fly too dangerously close to the flame’.

Exactly on this day, 17th March, in 2022, a certain individual under the influence decided to put this adage to the test. I jejely dey for my small corner o. Trouble dey sleep…”

Her words, though not explicitly mentioning Ebele Obiano, clearly referenced the incident that unfolded that day. Many social media users quickly connected the dots, interpreting the message as a reminder of how the former First Lady of Anambra allegedly initiated the altercation that led to the slap seen around the country.

At the time, Bianca Ojukwu explained that she had acted in self-defense after Mrs. Obiano approached her in a manner she deemed aggressive and inappropriate. The incident, which was unexpected at an official event, became one of the most talked-about moments in Anambra’s political history.

Since then, both women have largely moved on, with Bianca remaining an influential political and social figure, while Ebele Obiano has kept a relatively low profile. However, this latest post suggests that the memory of that encounter remains fresh in Bianca’s mind.

Public reactions to her statement have been mixed. Some see it as a justified recollection of an unforgettable moment, while others believe it reopens old wounds. Nevertheless, it serves as a reminder of the dramatic turn of events that once overshadowed a significant political transition in Anambra State.

For many, Bianca Ojukwu’s post is not just a personal reflection but a lesson on dignity in public office and the importance of exiting the stage gracefully.
