Timaya Raises Alarm Over Destruction Of Farmlands By Herders
By Gideon Ayeni

Afrobeats star Timaya has called on the government to take urgent action following the widespread destruction of farmlands in his home state, Bayelsa, allegedly caused by herders.
The singer, visibly troubled by the situation, took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to express his frustration over the loss of valuable crops, blaming open grazing as a major contributor to the devastation.
Timaya urged herders to embrace modern and sustainable livestock practices such as ranching, instead of allowing their cattle to roam freely and destroy farmlands.
“Pls the government should do something. They are destroying farms in Bayelsa. Aboki, take your cow inside and feed them. This is so sad,” he wrote.
Timaya’s statement has since gone viral on social media, with many Nigerians weighing in on the recurring issue of open grazing and its impact on food security and rural livelihoods.
