Engr. Christian Ijeh Urges NDDC To Invest in IT For Niger Delta Youths
By Benjamin Abioye

Engr. Christian Ijeh has praised NDDC Chairman Chiedu Ebie and urged investment in IT training to create jobs for Niger Delta youths.
Engr. Christian Ijeh, a cybersecurity expert based in Poland, has praised the leadership of Barrister Chiedu Ebie, the Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and particularly commended his dedication to advancing development, particularly in Ika South Local Government Area.
Engr. Ijeh stressed the importance of Information Technology (IT) in addressing youth unemployment in the Niger Delta. He urged Barr. Ebie to use his position to introduce IT training programs that would equip young people with valuable digital skills and create employment opportunities.
“A university certificate alone is no longer enough for our youths to compete in the global job market,” Engr. Ijeh stated. “By introducing IT training programs, we can empower young people with skills in cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, and other emerging technologies, ensuring they are well-positioned for international career opportunities.”
He also called on universities in the Niger Delta to adopt IT-related programs as a strategy to tackle unemployment. He encouraged the NDDC to collaborate with higher institutions to offer certification courses in digital fields, ensuring students gain practical skills that align with job market demands.
Achievements of Barrister Chiedu Ebie as NDDC Chairman
Engr. Ijeh highlighted several achievements of Barr. Ebie since taking over as NDDC Chairman:
Human Capital Development – Barr. Ebie has prioritized youth empowerment through training programs, scholarships, and capacity-building workshops, helping to build a skilled workforce for the region’s economic growth.
Stakeholder Engagement – He has strengthened relationships with key groups, including youth organizations and oil-producing communities, to ensure that NDDC projects align with the needs of the people.
Infrastructural Development – Under his leadership, the NDDC has embarked on major road construction, rehabilitation projects, and public infrastructure development to enhance connectivity in the Niger Delta.
In his concluding remarks, Engr. Ijeh urged Barr. Ebie to prioritize the reconstruction of roads leading to Omumu, Alizomor, Alisor, and Oza-Nogogo, noting that better infrastructure would boost economic activities and improve community development.
“Barr. Chiedu Ebie has shown remarkable dedication to the progress of the Niger Delta. I urge him to continue his good work, particularly by integrating IT-driven programs into his development agenda, which will secure a brighter future for our youth,” Engr. Ijeh concluded.
