A Nigerian lady has stirred conversation online after describing the business of selling bean cakes, locally known as akara, as one of the most dangerous hustles anyone can venture into.

In a video now making the rounds on social media, the woman shared her personal take on the popular roadside trade, warning that it’s far more demanding and risky than many people realize.

According to her, the reality of running an akara business—especially at night—is something only those who have experienced it firsthand can truly understand.

“Only people that sell akara or have sold akara will understand what I’m saying in this video. Selling akara is very dangerous. It is not even a business you venture into with clear eyes. Especially if you sell it at night; it is not a business for the weak. That business eh, what is inside is deeper than the akara itself,” she stated.
