Ikorodu City Football Club, a team from Lagos, faced a scary situation after their league match against Shooting Stars SC (3SC) on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

The match between Ikorodu City FC and 3SC which was part of the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, ended in a 0-0 draw at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

After the match, some angry fans of Shooting Stars 3SC were not happy with the result pulled by the visiting Ikorodu City FC. The 3SC fans showed their frustration by locking the players and officials of Ikorodu City inside their dressing room. The incident happened right inside the stadium, and reports said the power supply was cut off, leaving the visitors in darkness.

A video showed the Ikorodu City players and officials sitting in a dark room, using the light from their mobile phones to see.

One of the Ikorodu City officials said, “I have heard similar stories before in the NPFL, but this is my first time experiencing it.”

He described the incident, saying, “We are being held in the dressing room after the match ended in a goalless draw. The lights have been switched off, and we cannot exit – both players and officials. The team bus has been vandalized.”

More videos from the scene showed that the team’s bus was badly damaged. Reports also said that one of the club’s officials was injured during the chaos.

The trouble started shortly after the final whistle of the Match Day 32 game. The home fans were upset because their team could not win the match, and this led to the violent actions against the visiting team.
