The Labour Party (LP) Secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos, was attacked by armed thugs on Monday morning, causing significant damage to the premises and leaving party officials in disbelief.

According to witnesses and staff members, more than 300 attackers stormed the building around 10 a.m.

The assailants gained forceful entry, overpowering the security and ransacking offices within the secretariat. They reportedly stole sensitive party documents, electronics, and an undisclosed amount of money, which is believed to be in the millions of naira.

While police arrived shortly after the attackers fled, no arrests were made at the scene. Authorities have since confirmed the attack and promised that a thorough investigation is underway.

The Lagos State Police Command condemned the assault, stressing that efforts are being made to track down those responsible for the violent act.

In related news, the Director General of the Labour Party’s Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration, Marcel Ngogbehe, urged Julius Abure to take strong action against factions challenging the official leadership of the party. Ngogbehe emphasized that only the Abure-led National Working Committee (NWC) is the legitimate leadership, criticizing the faction that seeks to create a “new Nigeria” without following the party’s regulations.
