Virgil van Dijk is on the verge of signing a new contract with Liverpool that will keep him at the club until June 2027, joining Mohamed Salah in extending their stays at Anfield.
Dutch football star, Virgil van Dijk, is very close to signing a new contract that will keep him at Liverpool FC until June 2027.
The deal has already been completed and approved by the legal teams, and van Dijk is expected to officially sign it before the current football season ends.
This new contract will allow the Dutch defender to stay at Anfield for two more years, along with his teammate Mohamed Salah. Van Dijk is currently valued at about €28 million. So far this season, he has played in 43 matches for Liverpool in all competitions, starting every game. He has also scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist, showing his importance both in defense and attack.
At the same time, it was announced that Mohamed Salah has also signed a new contract with Liverpool. This means Salah will stay with the club beyond the 2024-2025 season.
Salah has had another excellent season, scoring 32 goals in 45 matches across all competitions. Out of these, 27 goals were scored in the Premier League, making him the league’s top goal-scorer. In addition to scoring goals, Salah has also provided 22 assists for his teammates.
This latest deal means Salah will continue his eight-year journey at Anfield, where he has become a key player in Liverpool’s success under manager Arne Slot. Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has become a club legend. With both Salah and van Dijk committing to long-term deals, Liverpool fans have every reason to look forward to a bright future for their team.
