Veteran actress Rita Edochie has urged married men to stay loyal to their wives, warning that side chicks fade with time, but the regret of losing a good wife lingers.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has shared a powerful message with married men, urging them to appreciate and prioritize their wives over fleeting temptations from side relationships.

Taking to Instagram, she advised men not to mistreat their wives for the temporary attention of side chicks.

In her heartfelt post, Edochie pointed out that as men age, the excitement of infidelity quickly fades, leaving behind only regret and the painful realization of the value of the woman they once took for granted. She emphasized that a wife is far more than just a spouse—she is a partner, friend, and confidante who stands by her husband through both the good times and the bad.

Edochie’s message was clear and direct: “You don’t have to treat your wives badly because of a roaming side chick. In the nearest future, age will drop on your side; only then will you realise the value of that poor woman you mistreated.”

She continued, urging men to be realistic about their relationships: “Men, let’s get real! Don’t trade the love, loyalty, and commitment of your wife for a fleeting affair with a side chick. When the thrill fades with age—and it will—you’ll be left with regret and the realisation of the value of the woman you mistreated.”

The actress further reminded men that their wives are more than just partners in marriage. “Your wife is your partner, your friend, and your confidante. She’s the one who stands by you through thick and thin, through triumphs and failures. She’s the one who builds a life with you, who shares your joys and sorrows,” she wrote.

Edochie also warned against allowing temptation to undermine the foundation of a marriage. “Don’t let anyone break what you share. Don’t let the temptation of a side chick undermine the foundation of your marriage. Prioritise your relationship, nurture your love, and cherish your wife.”

Finally, she stressed the importance of investing in a marriage for the long term: “The future may be unpredictable, but your commitment to your relationship shouldn’t be. Choose to invest in your marriage, to build a strong and lasting bond with your wife. When the side chick’s interest fades, your wife will still be there—and you’ll realise the value of the love you’ve been given.”
