Govt Pays April Salaries, Pensions Early For Easter
By Benjamin Abioye

To ease financial pressure during the Easter period, Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the early payment of April salaries and pensions to workers and retirees.
The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has paid April salaries and pensions to workers and retirees earlier than usual.
This move was made to help them prepare better for the Easter celebration and reduce financial stress during the festive period.
According to a statement from the Governor’s office, the early payment shows the administration’s concern for the well-being of civil servants and pensioners. The Governor aims to support families and ensure that money problems do not stop people from celebrating important religious and cultural events like Easter.
The statement also highlighted that the government has been careful and honest in managing public money. This has made it possible to meet financial responsibilities despite tough economic conditions in the country.
“Governor Monday Okpebholo is deeply committed to the welfare of Edo workers and pensioners. The decision to pay salaries and pensions early this April is a testament to this commitment, especially as our Christian faithful prepare to mark the Easter season,” the statement said.
It added, “This administration understands the significance of Easter in the lives of our people. We want our workers and senior citizens to celebrate with dignity and without financial worries. This is the least we can do to appreciate their hard work and years of service to our dear state.”
