Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Premier League club Manchester United.

This update was made public by Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler, who stated, “Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But there is also the club side of the matter,” during a podcast discussion.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has had an impressive season so far. The Super Eagles forward has scored 29 goals and contributed six assists in 34 matches across all competitions.

Manchester United, who are in search of a more reliable goal scorer due to Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles, are believed to have made Osimhen a top target. Reports suggest that the club’s manager, Ruben Amorim, may be considering replacing Hojlund in the summer.

Although Osimhen has agreed to personal terms, Manchester United still needs to reach an agreement with Napoli over the transfer fee. His contract includes a €75 million release clause, though Napoli may be open to offering a discount. Juventus is also interested in the striker, but Napoli is reportedly reluctant to sell him to a direct Serie A rival, giving United an edge in the race.

One important factor that could influence Osimhen’s decision is whether Manchester United qualifies for next season’s UEFA Champions League. The striker has made it clear that playing in the competition is a major priority for him.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük recently revealed that Manchester United has made a generous contract offer to Osimhen, proposing a weekly salary of £660,000 before tax. This deal would make him the highest-paid player at the club. Küçük said, “There is a high possibility that Osimhen will say goodbye (to Galatasaray), but there is no decision made at the moment. Juventus and Manchester United clearly want Osimhen. Juventus and Manchester’s offer is a net €20m (£660,000-a-week).”

Despite the growing interest from top European clubs, Galatasaray is hoping to keep Osimhen. However, meeting his salary demands—reportedly around €15 million annually—has proven difficult for the Turkish club. Galatasaray’s vice-president, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, said, “Osimhen’s words do not mean that he will leave. He said that Galatasaray will always be in his heart even if he leaves in the worst-case scenario, but he did not say that he would leave. We want him to stay with us.”

When asked about his future plans, Osimhen remained calm and noncommittal. “There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now. I am enjoying both the club and my life here,” he said.

Since joining Galatasaray at the beginning of the season, Osimhen has thrived. His salary is shared between the Turkish club and Napoli, with Galatasaray reportedly paying €6 million of his €10–11 million net annual wages, while Napoli covers the rest.
