Helicopter With Six Onboard Crashes

A helicopter carrying six people has crashed in the Gaurikund area of Uttarakhand, northern India, following reports of poor weather conditions.
The incident occurred on Sunday and was confirmed by local authorities after the aircraft was initially declared missing.
According to Indian news agency ANI, rescue operations are currently underway. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local administration, and other emergency services have been deployed to the crash site as efforts intensify to locate and assist any survivors.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed the crash in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), assuring the public that all necessary measures are being taken to support the victims and their families. “Relief and rescue operations are being carried out at full speed,” he wrote.
According to India Today, the helicopter may have veered off its course due to adverse weather conditions in the region, though the identities and conditions of those onboard have yet to be disclosed.
Authorities are expected to provide more updates as rescue operations progress.
