Yul who did not reveal which party he would represent had publicly appealed to Nigerians to support him financially so he could purchase the nomination form instead of dragging him for marrying a second wife,
However, Yul who has been silent over his presidential ambition for a while took to his official Twitter handle to reveal the actual reason for backing off from the race.
According to him, after several meetings and consultations with the leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA (which was the party he wanted to contest under) they arrived at a conclusion that the party doesn’t have the capacity to produce the next president so he didn’t move further with his plans.
Yul Edochie writing why he dropped his presidential ambition, said:
“I wanted to run for President with APGA. After much consultations & meetings.
“We sat and did our evaluations. We put sentiments aside & embraced facts. Our party is good but does not have the capacity at the moment to win a Presidential seat. So I didn’t move further.”
