Newly Wedded Couple Leaves Procession To Join Abuja Obidients’ Rally
A newly wedded couple left the wedding procession to join the Peter Obi rally staged by Obidient Nigerians in Abuja on Saturday, Vanguard reports.
The rally which saw a huge turnout of residents was staged as the national chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure said that the rallies being organised by supporters of the party have cost the party Shishi!
Vanguard reports that the newly wedded Obidient couple, Mr and Mrs Adamson attracted the huge applause following their appearance at the rally in Abuja, on Saturday.
The couple was said to be heading home from the venue of the wedding, stopped and joined the rally along with the groomsmen and bridesmaids to the admiration of the other Obidients as they are better known.
The rally which involved a long walk along a stretch of road from the city centre to the outskirts attracted a huge crowd of pro- Peter Obi Support groups and other well wishers.
Reacting to the massive turnout of supporters of the party and its candidate across the country, National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure, said the rallies showed evidence of the strength of the party on the ground.
He said, “The rallies are not surprising, it is because the Labour Party has a people oriented candidate that will work for the people and that will effectively serve the interest of the party.
“Of course, the people must own the process, the people will fund the process because they say he who plays the pipe dictates the tune. And therefore the people are the owners of the party and that is why they are funding these activities.
“People are contributing money, N1000, N10,000 and so on to carry out rallies for themselves. People are donating their buildings and the people of Nigeria are gradually owning the Labour Party.
