A 50 year-old housewife, Amina Guguwa, has been detained by the police in Bauchi on suspicion of strangling her co-wife.

SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the command’s spokesperson, revealed this in a statement on January 5, 2023, claiming that the suspect strangled the victim to death.

According to information that was made available to the command, Amina Koli (Deceased), 60 years old and from the Miya town, was strangled to death by her co-wife on January 1, 2023, after a violent altercation.

“Amina Guguwa, the suspect, unlawfully used force against the victim by tightly strangling her neck, which caused her to pass away immediately.

“Upon learning of the incident, a team of detectives was assembled and dispatched to the location. There, they took the victim to the General Hospital Ganjuwa, where a post-mortem examination determined that she had passed away.

The PPRO continued, “The investigation is ongoing, and following that, the suspect will be charged with a crime and prosecuted,” the Bauchi police spokesman said of the lady charged with strangling her co-wife.

Meanwhile, GWG.ng reports that the news of a housewife strangling her co-wife came as the political climate in Bauchi intensified after the state government suspended a former minister and elder-statesman for supposedly being rude to the governor.
