NIN: Nigerians Say They Were Denied Quick Service Given Anthony Joshua
Nigerian born Britain based boxer, Anthony Joshua has despite the challenges many Nigerians are facing and the exodus by many youths to emigrate has continued to identify with Nigeria.
Joshua is a two-time heavyweight champion, who holds the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles. He had following his victory in last December’s title fight gushed that he would like to host his title defence in Nigeria.
On Tuesday Joshua upped his love for Nigeria when he registered for the National Identity Number, NIN, a prerequisite for getting the Nigerian passport.
The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC apparently to boost awareness of the registration scheme was quick to load up the picture of Joshua.
However, the quick response of the commission in registering Joshua has elicited strong comments from many Nigerians who claim that they are yet to receive theirs or have been waiting for ages to enroll in the scheme.
