Two Die From COVID-19 As 20 New Cases Emerge

The COVID-19 pandemic in the country escalated on Friday with the revelation that the mortality rate doubled with two new deaths recorded in Lagos and Edo even as the number of positive cases climbed by 20 to 210.

Even more, the pandemic touched ground in Ondo State where the state recorded its first incident.

The new cases according to a late-night tweet on Friday by the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC were recorded in Lagos with 3; FCT 3, Edo 2, Osun 1 and Ondo 1.

The NCDC tweeted thus:

Before the NCDC announced the new figures, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State had tweeted thus:

With this development, Lagos now has 109 cases; Abuja- 41; Osun- 22; Oyo- eight; Edo- seven; Akwa Ibom- five; Ogun and Kaduna four cases each.

Others are: Bauchi- three; Enugu and Ekiti- two cases each, while Rivers, Benue and Ondo State has one case respectively.
