The British aviation company, Flair Aviation that illegally operated commercial flights into Nigeria will be made to face maximum penalty, the minister of aviation affirmed on Sunday.

An aircraft belonging to the company was recently impounded by the Federal Government for the illegal flight.

Writing on his Twitter handle @hadisirika, on Sunday, Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika said the aircraft was only given permission to operate humanitarian flights into Nigeria, but went on to add commercial flights.

Sirika said the company would be made to face the music for contravention of FG’s ban on commercial flights as part of measures to curb the importation of coronavirus.

“COVID-19. Flair Aviation, a UK company, was given approval for humanitarian operations but regrettably, we caught them conducting commercial flights. This is callous! The craft is impounded, the crew being interrogated. There shall be maximum penalty. Wrong time to try our resolve,” the minister tweeted.
