Halima Abubakar Apologises To Apostle Suleiman
Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has admitted to making false claims against Apostle Johnson Suleiman, a well-known Nigerian clergy.
In a letter shared on her Instagram page, Halima publicly apologized to Suleiman for her actions, acknowledging the harm she caused.
This apology came six months after a court ruling by the Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered her to pay N10 million in damages to Suleiman for making defamatory comments against him.
The actress had previously accused the cleric of immoral behavior and other harmful allegations on social media.
In her letter of apology, Halima wrote, “I am writing to acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies. After deep reflection and for my conscience to be right with God, I have realized the depth of harm, pain, and distress caused by my lies.”
She went on to admit her wrongdoing, stating, “I admit that I made false allegations against you and deeply regret my actions and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the Leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry.”
Halima expressed her sincere request for forgiveness, saying, “With this letter, I humbly ask for your forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm and pain I caused. I ask you to find it in your heart to forgive me, as I was not thinking clearly at the time.”
She concluded her letter by once again expressing her regret: “I am truly sorry for all the hurt and distress I caused you, your family, and your ministry. Thank you very much, and may the Heavens calm your heart. God bless you, Sir.”
