Former Chelsea legend N’Golo Kante has opened up about his move to Saudi Arabia, sharing that his true motivation was in a promise he made to improve the lives of people in his hometown.
Now playing for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Arabia Pro League, Ngolo Kante explained that his decision to move was rooted in a commitment to bring meaningful change.
“Today, I earn millions in Saudi Arabia, but I also enjoy football,” Kanté shared. “My best investment is to help my people where I was born. I promised them I would change their lives, and I will.”
Ngolo Kante outlined his plans to use his earnings in Saudi Arabia to provide critical infrastructure for his community. “This year, I promised to build schools, hospitals, stadiums, and a water reservoir for my people who are suffering too much,” he said. “My best investment of the millions I earn in Saudi Arabia is for my people.”
Kanté’s career has been remarkable, from winning the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016 to a string of trophies with Chelsea, including the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup. Yet, he remains focused on a larger purpose, choosing to channel his success into life-changing projects for his hometown.
