The Shiloh 2024 program of the Living Faith Church Worldwide has continued to draw reactions, not only for its spiritual theme, Ever Winning Wisdom, but also for the notable absence of Bishops David Abioye and Thomas Aremu.

Among the voices weighing in on is Senator Dino Melaye, whose remarks about the absence of Bishop Abioye at Shiloh 2024 of the Living Faith Church have set the social media on frenzy.

Taking to his social media platform, Melaye questioned the decision to retire Bishop Abioye, until recently a key figure in the church’s structure. He said the retirement was despite the fact that ishop David Oyedepo, the founder and older counterpart, remains actively involved. His post read:

“I did not attend Shiloh 2024. Because Shiloh without Bishop Abioye is somehow. I can’t understand why Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, is not retired, and it is Bishop Abioye who is younger that should be forcefully retired. God did not retire Abioye, only Oyedepo did. Let’s watch…”

This statement has reignited conversations among worshippers and on social media about the church’s recent leadership changes. Bishops Abioye and Aremu, who retired in October 2024, had been instrumental in the growth and administration of the ministry. Their absence at Shiloh, an event they had faithfully attended since its inception in 1999, left many attendees feeling the impact of their departure.

Melaye’s critique aligns with sentiments expressed by some church members who feel the retirements were abrupt and lacking transparency. Questions about why younger leaders like Bishop Abioye were retired while Bishop Oyedepo remains in active service have fueled speculation about internal restructuring and possible administrative politics within the church.

While some defend the leadership’s decision as part of a generational shift, others have voiced concerns about the evolving focus of Shiloh itself. Comments such as, “This doesn’t feel like the Shiloh I grew up with,” and “We miss the guidance of Bishop Abioye,” reflect a sense of nostalgia and unease among congregants.

The absence of these senior leaders has also led to serious question about the future of the church’s leadership. With Bishop Oyedepo still at the helm, observers are questioning how Living Faith Church Worldwide plans to navigate this new phase without alienating its members or diluting its spiritual mission.

For now, the legacy of Bishops Abioye and Aremu remains deeply etched in the hearts of worshippers, even as the Shiloh 2024 came to an end yesterday.
