Storm Over Dokubo’s Stance On NDDC Frauds

Sharp criticisms have greeted the comment of the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, Asari Dokubo that the alleged mismanagement of N81 billion by the Interim Management Committee, IMC, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, as mere pick-pocketing in comparison to other government agencies.
Dokubo, in a video, said he is being forced to run after pick-pocket, while armed robbers were carting away properties.
GWG reported that Dokubo, Edwin Clark and other stakeholders in the NDDC had been heavily criticised over their perceived silence on the alleged corruption scandal rocking the NDDC.
Dokubo said, “We are talking about N81 billion being pick-pocketed from Niger Delta while the bulk of our money, our resources is being carted away and we are not talking.
“They want me to run after pickpockets and leave armed robbers that are coming into my house. When they talk about Akpabio, tell them about Malami, when they talk about Joi, tell them about Sadiya, when they talk about any senator, tell them about Magu.”
A section of Twitter users argued that Dokubo’s comments on the NDDC corruption scandal depicted that the war against corruption is tribal.
Another section of Twitter users opined that if the Federal Government is serious about anti-corruption campaign, other government agencies and ministries will be probed to beam light on corrupt practices.
