Many Nigerians have taken to the microblogging platform, Twitter to celebrate the suspension of the Twitter handle of controversial blogger, Kemi Olunloyo.

Twitter, on Tuesday, placed a suspension on the handle of the controversial blogger, a development that has been met with jubilation.

Sequel to her suspension, Olunloyo had published series of tweets, in recent days, disparaging the #EndSARS protest and discrediting the movement against police brutality.

In one of her tweets, she asked the Federal Government to shut down the social media to halt the online campaign of #EndSARS, citing counties that had shut down the internet, during protest.

She tweeted, “China did it, Turkey did it, Togo did it. I’m an international journalist and support the government shutting down @Twitter, @Instagram and @Facebook during #EndSARSNow uprising. Last week,  I said this country will shut down in a week, the same people abusing me #ShutAllDown.”

The tweet sparked outrage among the protesters of #EndSARS, who might have reported the post to Twitter.

Her suspension from the platform was met with jubilation.

@mrmanheree tweeted, “Kemi olunloyo Twitter account has been suspended. 2020 wasn’t really all that bad.”

@MrOdanz tweeted, “Twitter has suspended the account of Aunty Kemi Olunloyo. You don’t know how much of a big win this is. Next stop should be that Lauretta woman.”
