Reno Omokri who served as an aide in the Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Villa has traced Nigeria’s delayed response to the xenophobic attacks by South Africa to what he alleged as President Muhammadu Buhari’s indifference to the welfare of the Igbo.

Omokri said the president is indifferent to the killings of Nigerians in South Africa because most of those being killed are Igbo who did not vote for the president in 2015 and in 2019.

Omokri who went to twitter to vent his views compared the president’s delayed reaction to the swift response the president took to save the life of Zainab Aliyu in Saudi Arabia after she was roped into a drug-smuggling operation into that country.

In a series of tweets, Omokri said:

“General @MBuhari is NOT bothered about the KILLINGS of Nigerians in SA because he feels that most Nigerians there are Igbos. They are 5 percenters. If he wanted to, he could act fast. Remember how fast he acted with Zainab Aliyu in Saudi Arabia? #StopKillingNigeriansInSA

“What a USELESS government! A week after a foreign country has been KILLING your CITIZENS and VANDALISING PROPERTY you are still on @Twitter TALKING. Ordinary TRAVEL ADVISORY against SA you haven’t done. And you are surprised they don’t take you seriously?”
