The Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Media sub committee of the National Campaign Committee on Bayelsa election, Sir Ken Ololugbo has lamented over the constant replacement of Commissioners of Police in Bayelsa state, noting that the state had seen seventeen CPs from May 2015 till date.

Mr. Okolugbo, in a telephone interview with GreenWhiteGreen, noted that the All Progressive Congress, APC, at the federal level has been shopping for a commissioner of police to to do its bidding in the state.

“We are also bothered about the fact that in a little while between 2015 and now, we have had 17 Commissioners of Police in Bayelsa, this is the seventeenth commissioner of police that has been sent to Bayelsa, from May 2015 till date.

“It is obvious that they are not yet settleed with who they want to use. First, the commissioner of police must have to be loyal to the APC forces in Abuja,” he stated.

He also stressed on the need to bring back the displaced Nembe people of the state to their ancestral home, while stating that the people had been displaced since the April 2019 election, occasioned by the activities of notorious militants in the area.

According to him, “Then again, we are bothered about the Nembe angle, this has to do with the people, who had been displaced and are now living in Yenegoa.

“These are basically our supporters, who have been denied access to their ancestral home, since 2019 elections in April and they have not returned back because a particular notorious militant is reigning supreme in that axis.”

He, however, sued for peace and security, during and after the November 16th election, while urging the Federal Government to create a level playing field for all candidates in the election.
