The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, has debunked the claims of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the state that it’s members were attacked by APC partisans while heading for a campaign activity in Nembe.

The APC in a statement issued by Ala Mathias Nyenye, Chairman, APC Media and Publicity committee, Nembe LGA, described the assertions of the PDP as wicked and malicious.

He said that the APC would have ignored the allegation attributed to the PDP campaign spokesman, Jonathan Obuebite, who he claimed had been found to have in the past not been forthright in his statements.

According to him, the PDP has rather  issued a threat to the APC in Nembe local government area, while claiming that they were attacked by the party.

Nyenye, alleged that the problem arose after a PDP campaign in Brass local government area, turned violent when thugs reportedly hired from neighbouring states started agitating after they were not paid their entitlements.

According to him the mayhem escalated to affect innocent indigenes.

He urged the PDP campaign spokesman Obuebite, to concentrate on campaigning for the candidate of his party,  who he claimed has already been rejected by the people of the state instead of inciting the public against the APC in the state.

He further called on security agencies, to call Obuebite to order for stirring up conflict, noting  that such statements, if not properly checked, will cause unrest in the local government area and the state at large.
