How Jonathan Betrayed Us: PDP Elders Forum Wants Him Disciplined

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Elders Forum in Bayelsa State has accused Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of betraying the party in the just concluded governorship election and tasked the national leadership of the party to discipline him.

The Elders Forum in a statement issued by its chairman, Benson Odoko in Yenagoa at the weekend also accused President Jonathan and his wife of donating Aridolf Hotel to the All Progressives Congress, APC as an operational base ahead of the election.

Among the reasons claimed by the Elders Forum for calling for Jonathan’s investigation on the issue were that Jonathan refused to congratulate the PDP candidate, Douyle Diri who served him as a sports commissioner after he emerged as the candidate.

He also alleged that Jonathan visited President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the election for an undisclosed reason.

He also alleged that Jonathan refused to campaign or associate with the PDP campaign throughout the electioneering campaign.

He affirmed that also shocking was the visit to Jonathan by APC leaders including APC state leader, Timipire Sylva and the governor-elect immediately after the election.

He said that the assertion that Jonathan was angry over the loss by his preferred candidate, Timi Alaibe in the PDP primaries was no justification for the alleged betrayal as he asked the national leadership to invoke sanctions on President Jonathan.
