Kwara: Gbemi Stands With Bukola Against Gov Abdulrazaq

Senator Gbemisola Saraki is standing with her brother in the defence of their father’s legacy it emerged on Thursday as the Kwara State Government explained why Senator Olusola Saraki’s property was destroyed in the middle of the night.

The government also explained that it was not aware of any court papers or order obtained to stop the demolition of the property, Ile Arugbo House, a property from where the Sarakis had used to dispense hospitality to the poor.

The property reportedly acquired by the late Saraki through his company, Asa Investments Limited was reclaimed by the Kwara State Government following the government’s claim that it was irregularly acquired.

Responding to the development, Senator Gbemi who has had a nine-year running battle with her brother Bukola came out to stand in the same position with him against Governor Abdulrhaman Abdulrazaq sanctioned the move.

In a symbolic gesture of her identification with the family legacy, Gbemi, the minister of state for transportation in a statement said she would rename her political structure GRS-Oloye in apparent recognition of her father popularly revered as Oloye.

In a statement issued by her Special Assistant, Titilope Anifowoshe, she said:

“so many things have happened this year,in fact right up to the very dying hours of the year,but we will continue to take brave and faithful steps.

“We have a history and we are proud of that history, may Allah forgive the sins of all our dearly departed and may He make us worthy representatives of all that they stood for,” she added.
