DSS, Others Rescue ISWAP Abducted Aid Workers

The Department of State Services (DSS) Wednesday announced the rescue of five aid workers abducted by ISWAP.

DSS Public Relations Officer, Dr. Peter Afunanya said the rescue on Wednesday was effected by the DSS in conjunction with other strategic stakeholders/partners.

The aid workers where abducted on the 22nd of December 2019 along the Monguno-Maiduguri Road, Borno State.

The PRO named those rescued to include Jennifer Samuel Ukumbong (Alliance for International Medical Action, (ALIMA), Asabe Cletus Musa, Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA), Adamu Auwal Ozeshi, Arthur Ibojekwe Chima (Solidarity International) and George Danbaba Micheal (International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

He added that they are in good health and are being debriefed as appropriate.
