Boko Haram Return To Chibok, Burn Down Houses

The Boko Haram insurgent group on Tuesday evening attacked Korongilum Community in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attack according to sources commenced at about 6.00 p.m. with the insurgents making inroads into the community.

The insurgents it was learnt immediately set out to destroy the community, burning down houses and other valuable infrastructure in the community.

It was further gathered that residents of the community scampered for safety as the insurgents moved into the community which is within Chibok Local Government Area.

As at press time, security agents were said to be responding to the attack.

Details of casualties are presently unavailable.

Chibok gained international recognition after Boko Haram insurgents moved into the community in 2014 and kidnapped more than 200 school girls.
