By Ayodele Oluwafemi
Erstwhile Kano State Commissioner for Works, Muazu Magaji who was sacked for ‘celebrating’ the death of Abba Kyari, has tested positive for coronavirus.
Mr. Magaji, on Thursday, in a Facebook post said that when he found his health deteriorating, he decided to take the COVID-19 test, which came back positive.
The sacked Commissioner had earlier apologized for his inability to respond to Facebook messages sent by friends, due to his state of health.
He, however, solicited for prayers, while noting that he had been moved to one of the state isolation facilities.
Recall that Magaji, took to his Facebook page after the announcement of the death of Mallam Kyari to celebrate the departure as a good omen for the nation’s democracy.
His statement drew the ire of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje leading to his summary dismissal from the cabinet.
Announcing his dismissal, Kano’s commissioner for information, Muhammad Garba, said he was sacked for his unguarded utterance against the person of Kyari.
Magaji subsequently apologized for his actions, saying he was misunderstood.
