The managing director of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC, Dr. Henry Ajagbawa has been released from the Rivers State Isolation Centre after he was intercepted on the road by Governor Nyesom Wike while monitoring the lockdown of the state.

Dr. Ajagbawa who only took over at the helm of the company at the beginning of May was in the centre of a controversy after he was arrested on the road while he was escorted by mobile policemen.

Ajagbawa who left his position as an executive director at Ecobank for his new position has since been released from the Isolation Centre.

Upon that development, there had been insinuations that PHEDC would disconnect the state from the power supply.

Dr. Ajagbawa it was learnt was immediately released from the Isolation Centre once his identity was brought to the attention of the governor.
