Nigerians have taken to the microblogging platform, Twitter to call on President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai to put an end to the massacre in Southern Kaduna.

Pictures showing bodies of butchered children and women and mass burial rites in Southern Kaduna have appeared on the social media.

On May 22, 2020, Adara Development Association, ADA, in Kaduna State cried out over the murder of no fewer than 107 persons, 49 injured, about 66 persons kidnapped, 111 houses burnt, 32 villages destroyed and about 20,000 displaced from January, this year to date in Adara community, Daily Post reported.

The killings are said to be partly connected to farmers/herders attacks, however no concrete evidence to support such assertion.

Southern Kaduna is dominated by non-Hausa Fulani Christians, a development that has set tongue wagging on what may be like killings targeted at that segment of the population.

Many Nigerians have called on Buhari and El-Rufai to look at the plight of people of Southern Kaduna, especially in Adara and Kajuru communities, where the massacre is reportedly concentrated.

Besides the killings, the people have also been the subject of repeated kidnap attacks and have coughed out hundreds of millions if not billions in ransom payment to the kidnappers.

Gory pictures of the killings have drawn the ire of Twitter users, who are demanding that the government should do something about it.
