Pregnant Woman Dies In Benin After Rape Attack

A pregnant woman, Queen Igbinevbo, is reported to have died in Benin after being raped in her Uselu, Benin City residence.

Sources revealed that the woman who was living alone was raped by unknown men, before her dead body was recovered by nieghbours.

The incident according to sources was discovered on Friday morning but the police while confirming the report said it happened last week.

A nieghbour who spoke under the condition of anonymity said. “This morning, when we could not see Queen, I came to check if she  was fine, because she lives alone, (but) we met her naked, blood and foam was coming out of her mouth. There was semen all over her body

“We had to call her husband who is staying in another place,” the source concluded.

The Police Public Relation Officer of the Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuozo, when contact said: “the case was reported  to the Okhoro Police Divisional Headquarters and we are investigating the matter.

“Doctors will carry out autopsy and the results will be made public,” he said.

Recall, that a 100 level Microbiology student of the University of Benin, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa was gang raped and her head battered with a fire extinguisher in Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City on the 27 May,2020.

Vera died Saturday,30 May, sparking protest across the country and beyond.
